The 100 m Composite Ship?

چکیده
Fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) matrix composites are widely used in large marine structures, and wind turbines where blade lengths now over 100 m. Composites the material of choice for small vessels due to ease manufacture, high hull girder stiffness, buckling resistance, corrosion resistance underwater shock resistance. Ships m still built using traditional steel and/or aluminium, but so far not FRP. Composite ship have increased past 50 years, fundamental technical challenges remain composite ship. Preliminary studies suggest a possible 30% saving structural weight, 7–21% reduction full load displacement, cost 15%. However, economic considerations, design codes, manufacturing limits, safety end life scenarios need be addressed before is built. Innovative materials notably carbon fibre skinned sandwich construction, or aramid fibres with vinylester modified epoxy resin, should result mechanical performance consequent improvements economics processes. A linear extrapolation length vs. launch dates predicts first would launched 2042.

Composite M-branes
We present new supersymmetric solutions of D = 11 supergravity obtained by intersecting the brane configuration interpreted as a 2-brane lying within a 5-brane. Some of these solutions can be boosted along a common string and/or superposed with a Ka luża-Klein monopole. We also present a new embedding of the extreme four dimensional dyonic black hole with finite horizon area. These solutions ar...

We generalise all the known supersymmetric composite M-branes to the corresponding black configurations. Thermodynamical formulae is written by using the simple rules to construct these black branes. ∗email address: [email protected] 1 2
متن کاملComposite Scattering of Ship on Sea Surface with Breaking Waves
The composite backscattering of the ship model on sea surface is investigated with the spilling breaking waves and ship bow waves. The spilling breakers are approximately modeled with the wedge-like waves, and the ship bow waves are simulated based on the Kelvin model. With the modified four-path model, each scattering component is evaluated with the high frequency approximation methods for the...
